About Samuel Kotto

Samuel began his career in 1995 as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Cameroon, then at Ernst & Young Cameroon until 2006 when he reached the rank of Senior Manager. During his stay in these institutions, he worked on missions covering a wide range of sectors mainly the banking and financial sector and secondarily other sectors including energy (oil and gas), development projects, infrastructures, industries in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Chad, and Gabon. In addition to these financial auditor duties, he has also been responsible for “Knowledge Management”, “Business Risk Services” and training within Ernst & Young Cameroon.
His proven background and expertise in the financial sector has given him the privilege of serving as Group Chief Financial Officer at Capital Financial Holding (2006 to 2009), a financial holding company of the Commercial Bank Group covering the Central African region. , Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank of Cameroon (a subsidiary of Oceanic Bank then Ecobank) between 2009 and 2013 and Chief Executive Officer of Banque Atlantique Cameroun between 2013 and 2015.
From 2006 to 2009, he served on the Board of Directors of three subsidiaries overseen by Commercial Bank Group Financial Holding.
Samuel holds an MBA (Institute of Business School -Madrid), a postgraduate degree in Finance, Treasury and Risk Management from the Business School of Lille (Skema Business School), a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Applied Monetary and Banking Economics of the University of Paris Dauphine and a Master in Economic and Social Administration from the University François Rabelais de Tours
He is a Chartered Financial Expert Adviser to the National Chamber of Financial Advisers and Experts of Cameroon. He is also a Financial Implementation Specialist with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
